 Episode 10: Another hero that does not disappoint. Penny and Ron Lavin's One Light Healing Touch school started in 1996 and has helped hundreds and thousands of people all over the world. https://youtu.be/sC7XWV9TyrY I first reached out to Penny and Ron just to thank them for their body of work. To tell them that "if I had it to do all over again I would not got to medical school, but would do their class and I would have been healing people this entire time." What happened next was unexpected. Penny said "Daniel, you'd make a great master healer." This was music to my ears because I still felt in the beginning of 2025 like I had been burned out by my profession as an Army Psychiatrist and civilian Medical Director. The jobs drained my empathy and compassion, just like I wrote about 10 years ago in my internationally cited burnout publication in the prestigious journal, Academic Psychiatry. Penny Lavin's documentary is available in Gaia and Amazon Fast forward through a lot of documentaries and it turns out that empathy can actually be studied, measured and analyzed with biofeedback. Well, I felt it as an Army Psychiatrist pulling double duty in 2022 on the Texas-Mexico Border and providing telepsychiatry to four federal prisons in Texas. I felt the pain on all sides closing in, pain from the migrants that lost loved ones crossing Mexico due to cartels, mass murderers, the military casualties helping with border patrol. As a dedicated healer, like Penn Lavin, I never waivered in my compassion towards my clients. But I did learn the hard way that when compassion is completely drained due to past trauma's quantum drag, that I wanted to simply quit it all. With this backdrop, this podcast interview interjects one of the worlds foremost accomplished healers and teachers. Penny Price Lavin is the second hero I've ever met that did not disappoint.
