ON THIS week's podcast, we chat to Star Sport columnist John Hayes after an exciting weekend of football action which saw Newcestown progress to the semi-finals.
Jim O’Sullivan’s men beat Carrigaline in a penalty shoot-out after an 0-18 apiece draw after extra-time, a first last four appearance for the West Cork club in six years.
Castlehaven meanwhile suffered a 6-11 to 0-19 defeat at the hands of St Finbarr’s in the game of the weekend, ending their three-in-a-row quest.
Carbery Rangers will have to go again the relegation play-off after a 1-9 apiece draw with Valley Rovers while O’Donovan Rossa survived in the Senior A grade after a 1-18 to 0-17 win over Fermoy.
Elsewhere, Bandon went down to the fourth tier while Ilen Rovers beat Mitchelstown to seal an Intermediate A Football Championship semi-final date with Adrigole.
