The last two weeks we have been talking about acknowledging and learning how too as good questions. Learning how to ask good questions is an art form and learning how to answer questions is also a process that requires a lot of practice. Since guys already know how to "Bust Other Dudes Chops", the Man Game shouldn't be a new thing any man. The InBetween Man's Man Game is a different animal all together and it will require you partner up with another dude who you know very well. Someone like a brother or very close college friend who was a roommate at College or whomever. You really need to know before going into this that you partner in this game isn't out to really verbally abuse you. Although, it would be helpful if your partner had some dirt on you, but it's not mandatory.

The primary purpose of The Man Game is to learn how build up your outside armor and practice getting verbally waterboarded with your buddy. Learning how to overcome "personal attacks" verbally isn't easy especially if your "sensitive" about certain topics happening in your life. This is one of the reasons why I highly recommend you do it with someone you are close with or is a brother because the likelihood of either of you overreacting is low. The whole point of The Man Game is to break through the other persons armor and get them to react in a defensive way. The person who does that first is the winner.

A good example of a few people who have made a career learning how to play this game is Ted Cruz or Nancy Pelosi. Nothing ever seems to penetrate their armor and they always deflect or move the topic onto something else. Mitch McConnell is another EPIC example of this. (I am not a fan of any of them, but if you can learn how to deflect personal attacks like any of the above, you'll be moving in a direction.)

The whole point of The Man Game is for you to build up enough armor that nothing can stop you from being personally offended. If something does sneak through your armor and you feel like you've been personally attacked, I want you to write down what your partner said to you and how you responded. Each of you should also have a "word" you can use to call off the verbal waterboarding if things start to go off the rails. If your armor is thin, both of you will know right away and your partner in the game MUST be sympathetic to this and willingly back-off. The Man Game at times, will not be fun and it could cause you to hang up the phone in a rage attack. But that is okay, now you have new information about yourself that confirms what hot TOPICS. After all this is a close friend / brother and we aren't trying to emotionally abuse someone on purpose.

The entire purpose of the game is to learn how to take a "verbal upper-cut" that stings and not overreact or blow up. If you "blow up" you've already lost and the best place to learn how to NOT "blow up" is with your close friend or brother. The other reason for The Man Game is to give the individual an opportunity to understand what areas in your life you are most "sensitive" about. If anyone, including me, ignores any sensitives areas you don't want to talk about or understand, at least you will know why and be prepared for it. What you don't work on know, I promise you will work on later and delay can dangerous.
