Big news just hit Washington. Assistant coach Mitch Love's on leave. NHL's investigating. It's shaking things up right before camp.
I've been watching these informal skates at MedStar Ice Complex. Place is buzzing. Almost the full roster's there. Ovechkin, Wilson, Dubois — I'm seeing all the big names. These sessions are high-tempo. Coaches are definitely taking notice.
I've got my eye on Justin Sourdif, our new pickup from Florida. Two-year deal for this kid. He's got skills, I tell you. Clean positioning, finds space, plays both center and wing. His numbers back it up too — 34 points in 43 AHL games last season.
Our veterans? They came back strong. I'm seeing Tom Wilson looking faster out there. Dylan Strome's still that playmaker we know. They're setting the tone.
These skates aren't just warm-ups, folks. It's an audition. I'm watching these guys push each other. That's exactly the vibe you want heading into camp.
