Should you trust your pediatrician? 🤔 Today I’m not here to give you a simple yes or no. Instead, I’m sharing stories of times doctors mismanaged my child’s care—including how one pediatrician misdiagnosed bloody diarrhea (and what we did instead).
In this episode, I’ll cover:
- Why being a steward of your child’s health sometimes means saying no
- How to balance having a pediatrician on hand while still being the final decision-maker
- My son Ojai’s story of bloody diarrhea and how triage + the pediatrician completely missed it
- How another doctor brushed off constipation as “totally normal” (and how that dismissal ultimately led us to discover toxic mold in our home)
- Why prevention, intuition, and informed choices matter more than intervention alone
The takeaway? Doctors are human, and they’re working inside a very narrow framework. It’s not about never trusting them—it’s about remembering that you are the decision-maker for your child’s wellness.
