Yesterday, Turning Point USA unanimously elected Erika Kirk, widow of founder Charlie Kirk, as CEO and board chair, following his fatal shooting on September 10 at Utah Valley University. Erika pledged to continue her husband’s mission of promoting patriotism and faith, as the organization, with $85 million in 2024 revenue, operates on over 3,500 campuses. A memorial service on September 21 at Glendale’s State Farm Stadium will honor Kirk’s legacy.2. A disturbing “assassination simulator” depicting the September 10 killing of Charlie Kirk appeared on Roblox, accessible to children as young as 5, but was swiftly removed along with over 100 related user-created games. The incident sparked renewed criticism of Roblox, which has 380 million monthly users, 40% under 13, for failing to moderate violent content effectively. The platform’s content rules were cited as violated by these graphic “experiences.”3. On Thursday, late-night hosts Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Fallon addressed ABC’s indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel over comments about Charlie Kirk’s assassination. The hosts expressed solidarity with Kimmel, highlighting tensions over free speech.4. Remains believed to be Travis Decker, a 32-year-old father accused of murdering his three daughters near a Washington campground, were found in a remote wooded area, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office reported. The discovery follows a manhunt for Decker, linked to the tragic killings, with authorities continuing their investigation.5. Songwriter Brett James, known for co-writing Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” is believed among three killed in a Cirrus SR22T plane crash in Franklin, North Carolina, on September 18, 2025, per the FAA. The crash, which occurred around 3 p.m., left no survivors, and investigations are underway to determine the cause.6. A Nature study estimates wildfire smoke causes over 40,000 U.S. deaths annually, with projections of up to 71,000 deaths per year by mid-century. From 2026 to 2055, total deaths could reach 1.9 million if trends continue.Thank you for listening to News on Knees, a community prayer podcast by Story King Media.
