 Listeners, Baltimore is buzzing this week and you are not going to want to miss a beat. Starting Thursday evening, head downtown for the Bromo Art Walk, a multi-block adventure through the Bromo Arts District with open galleries, performances, and hands-on art activities like the Brush Mural Fest at the Maryland Center for History and Culture Courtyard. Current Space will be hosting art and jazz with Lafayette Gilchrist, and Dear Globe Coffee puts on a thought-provoking exhibit addressing urgent social themes. All this energy runs from five to nine tonight—absolutely free to just explore and soak in.

Friday and through the weekend, Baltimore holds special commemorative events for the anniversary of September 11, including a city vigil at the World Trade Center in the harbor and a ceremony honoring Marylanders lost. The U.S. Naval Academy’s solemn Flag Run and moment of silence wrap up in the evening with poignant tributes along the waterfront.

This weekend, make your way to Fell’s Point for the annual Oyster Fest, running Friday through Sunday on Broadway Square. Expect briny local oysters, live bands, and bustling crowds as one of Baltimore’s favorite street festivals brings the Chesapeake’s best flavors right to the harbor.

Saturday is packed. The Baltimore Rhythm Festival takes over the Montessori school in Station North from noon to six with outdoor performances, workshops, and community drum circles. Fans of live music will want to check out Adam Sandler’s show at CFG Bank Arena or Soccer Mommy at Baltimore Soundstage, while synth-pop fans can hit Ottobar. For something wildly original, Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall hosts Beethoven x Beyoncé—a live mashup of Queen Bey’s hits and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.

Bring the kids to Port Discovery’s Queens & Kings & Knights & Things for medieval games, jousting, and family quests all weekend. Over at the Maryland Zoo Saturday night, Fatal Fauna: Til Death Do Us Part offers a wedding-themed murder mystery dinner party complete with animal ambassadors for a twist on your dinner plans.

For art lovers needing a creative brush up, join a painting workshop at Manor Mill, or tap into Baltimore’s jazz legacy with Nicole Henry at Keystone Korner.
