このコンテンツについて
Ever had someone slide into your DMs with:
“Can I pick your brain?”
“Let’s grab a coffee so I can run this idea by you?”
Or my personal favourite: “Hey, can you get me on a TEDx stage?”
It sounds harmless… maybe even flattering. But if you’re an entrepreneur, you know how quickly these “little asks” add up. Suddenly, generosity turns into exploitation.
In this episode, I open up about what it’s really like to feel used and abused in business. From people ghosting after free dinners, to “networking coffees” that turned into hidden TEDx agendas, to endless requests for free advice - I’ve felt it all.
This isn’t just my problem, though. It’s a bigger cultural issue: visibility online makes people think they’re entitled to your time, your contacts, your expertise - for free.
I’ll share how I’ve been dealing with it, what the psychology says about reciprocity and burnout, and the simple system I’m using now to stay generous without draining myself dry.
👉 If you’ve ever felt undervalued, overwhelmed, or just tired of people wanting everything for free - this one’s for you.
