このコンテンツについて
Social media is an integrated part of the modern lifestyle, influencing how people communicate, interact, and share information. It's completely changed how people have relationships, how they share content, and how they put their message across. Yet for a lot of neurodivergent people, social media can be fraught with special difficulties that can hinder the ability to find our way around and fully participate in these virtual locations. Neurodiversity encompasses human brain function as a natural variant, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia.
Social media are inherently intended as inclusive environments; the various ways they are designed fail to meet the requirement of serving the different needs of people on the neurodiverse spectrum and can put in place obstacles that prevent or limit the way an individual can participate in them and be involved. This book invites us to rethink social media so that it becomes a more inclusive network for neurodiverse individuals by overcoming the challenges and ensuring that everyone can enjoy these digital spaces.
