The sad, nostalgic and heart-warming gamut of emotions one feels makes this book a must read. Ms Arend is one of the very few authors whose contemporary books I always read. I started off with PNR Granite Lakes series and have been a fan ever since. Her books are totally readable, with great characters you want to know and even move to live near and be friends with. I only wish I didn’t have to wait so long between books. A wonderful Christmas themed story based around small town life. It is so nice to read a good solid story that brings warmth to your heart. Loved the rock cookies scene, so sweet and bought back memories. Trust, love, support and community are missing from most lives nowadays but at least I can escape into a great book like this to have those feelings. Brooke and Mack are not an insta love couple which is a nice change from some other books. They are like so many other ordinary couples, trying to find time for the other. They have been dating for a year and both wish to move forward with their lives but are not in a financial position to do so. I really enjoyed going along on their journey as they found the path that was right for them. Watching Mack waiting for the right moment to bring out the ring burning a hole in his pocket was fun. Wasn’t sure if Brookes dad was gong to be a problem but it was nice how that played out. Love Hannah and Brads news and great to have new names and faces appearing. This is my honest review of this book.
