Michael Maxwell McCallum lives in a world just like ours, but peopled by superheroes. When Michael's hero, Perfect Man, quits his job without warning, Michael isn't worried. He knows that Perfect Man will come back. He always does. So that September, when a new teacher shows up in his classroom, a teacher with a number of special powers, Michael figures it out right away. Mr. Clark is Perfect Man. Mr. Clark doesn't say yes and he doesn't say no to Michael's endless questions, but he does encourage Michael to find his own super powers.

Four preteens receive mysterious enamel pins that grant them superpowers. Together, they must put aside their differences and embark on an epic journey to find the mysterious pinmaker, discover the truth behind the new theme park, and of course, trade pins—all while learning how to navigate their new superhuman skills. But friendships are put to the test in the wake of the mysterious pinmaker's identity. Is this too much for the crew to take on?

After a mysterious explosion during the night at the local theme park called FUNTASTIC PLAINS, Skylar, Angela, Travis, and Sophie each received an enamel pin that gave them superpowers. At first, the kids thought this was a random coincidence, but thanks to the former toymaker Mister Paul, they learn that’s likely not the case. The theme park FUNTASTIC PLAINS may have a motto of “where fun lives,” but the enamel pin crew thinks it just might be where fun goes to die.
