S.B Nova was born in the south of England, and will now continue to talk about herself in the first person. After the age of six, I grew up in the wilds of the north, where I developed a passion for books. My first memory was staring at squiggles on a page, and believing that to understand them must be a form of magic. Then, when I was eleven, I was introduced to the realm of fantasy, through the big screen and the written word. From then on I was hooked and started to invent stories before I’d go to sleep every night. Skip forward twelve years and I graduated from Warwick University with a BA in Film & T.V and a MsC in Project & Program Management. My intention was to find a home among the crews of film & T.V sets. But life had other ideas, and I realized that I needed to act as a carer for a family member. Life slowed down and I found time to read again. Then, I remembered those characters I’d promised to one-day give a voice. At a crossroads, I made the choice to listen and started writing the Southern Fire series. This culminated in my debut novel, Draken. A story inspired by the magic I had believed in, and the characters I’d lived with for years. All brought to life by a twist of fate and my love of writing. I still live in the Northlands with my cat-in-arms Roo, and my partner. I spend most of my time reading, and writing the sequel to Draken. Although my next book, (coming 2017), will be the start of a new Faerie series called Outcasts.
