hello... HELLO! Tis the Fall season and summertime is fading. If you are thinking of writing and publishing, my books will be the guide for your success. My latest book in my publishing series is The Author's Walk: Finding Your Voice to Create Publishing Success. Ideal for the aspiring author or who wants to re-discover his or her mojo. I was honored to be named an Author Laureate in 2025. For historical fiction readers, Book 1: The Secret Journey, my first fiction book co-written with Brian Barnes, was released in 2023. It will be followed by Book 2:The Secret Hamlet in 2024 and in 2025, The Secret Rise will debut in May. My personal memoir is When God Says NO: Revealing the YES When Adversity and Loss Are Present was released in 2021, the recipient of 15 national books awards, including best cover. In 2025, I added cookbook author to my resume. You can find it under the titles Cooking with Judith--easy-peasy recipes for WOWlicious eating. My books have been published in 17 countries, created over Five hundred thousand dollars in combined book sales and speaking fees, and won more than 60 national book awards. In the past 10 years, all my personal books have become #1 New Releases and earned a variety of #1 categories on Amazon. When it comes to the authors I've had the pleasure of working with and guiding, they have earned a combined 500 book awards. Today, I write about publishing and authoring and have now added COOKBOOKS and HISTORICAL FICTON to my writing mix. All are multi-award-winning book: Author YOU: Creating and Building Your Author and Book Platforms, How to Create Snappy Sassy Salty Success for Authors and Writers, How to Create Crowdfunding Success for Authors & Writers, How to Avoid Book Publishing Blunders, How to Create a Million Dollar Speech, and The Author's Walk. My first fiction foot in the written was with co-author Brian Barnes with The Secret Journey. What am I working on now? The third book in the Harmonie Series: The Secret Rise. HOT BOOK AWARDS: There are so many to name. As of 2025, the runaway winner is my memoir, When God Says NO-Revealing the YES When Adversity and Loss Are Present with 15, including best cover design. I was honored to receive the first Dan Poynter Legacy award for nonfiction and be named a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of America. SIZZLING HOT: Throughout the year, I deliver Judith Briles Book Publishing Unplugged, Speaking Unplugged, Book Marketing Unplugged, Social Media Unplugged, and Create Sizzling Book Cover and Marketing Copy Unplugged ... each multi-hour intensive is with just me. The workbooks are content heavy, the gathering is kept under 20 so that every participant gets focused attention and their book is highlighted. Get ready to roll up your sleeves, it's a deep dive into branding, marketing, Amazon, gizmos and gadgets to soar your authoring success and so much more. Each year, I shepherd a group of authors during January or February at my annual Publishing at Sea event. I include other savvy publishing experts as faculty members. The portal for information is Publishing at Sea. When I'm not working with clients as The Book Shepherd, you'll find me cooking--often with friends co-cooking—or in the garden. When I finish writing my own books, I give myself a month of reading what I call "trash" for pleasure--mystery thrillers. I love the feel of a well-crafted book and I'm partial, very partial, to curling up with book in hand, a cup of tea or glass of iced tea, and falling in. One of my favorite days: Opening a book and discovering that several hours have passed. Delicious!
