Eliana Sá began her career at *Recreio* magazine in the 1980s. She has published several books, including *Dona Galinha e o Ovo de Páscoa*, *Um Amigo na Caverna* (Scipione), *Um Ônibus pra Lua*, *A Bolsa Nova da Lili*, *Pinguim de Mochila*, *O Peixinho Medroso*, and *A Caixa de Pandora* (Sá).
Eliana Sá was born in Fortaleza, Ceará. Her father was a journalist who would always bring home fresh newspapers when returning from work in the early hours of the morning. She recalls waking up and trying to decipher the headlines; that is how she learned to read at the age of five.
She never stopped reading after that. She became an avid reader of Monteiro Lobato, comic books, and adventure stories, and began writing poetry and fiction in her notebooks. Her family later moved to São Paulo, where she studied journalism and publishing at USP and landed her first job at *Recreio* magazine; there, she worked under Ruth Rocha, creating games and writing stories. She went on to work for publishing houses, helping other authors prepare their books, and eventually published her own works, such as *Dona Galinha e o Ovo de Páscoa* and *A Caixa de Pandora*.
This year, she is releasing *Meus Afetos: Memórias de uma Menina Cearense* (Sá Editora), a book recounting her childhood and adolescence in Fortaleza during the 1950s and 1960s, leading up to her family's move to São Paulo. In this book, we follow the family's experiences regarding the upbringing of Sergio, who was born blind.
