大阪府生まれ。
広告、ＣＭ，映画などのヘアメイクとして活動する傍ら、2018年、第2回大藪春彦新人賞を受賞。2019年、受賞作を含む『愚か者の身分』で文壇デビュー。同作は2025年に映画化され話題に。続編『愚か者の疾走』も発売。
既刊に『マルチの子』、『無年金者ちとせの告白』、『フラワー・チャイルド』。最新刊は戦中・戦後を生き抜いた美容家の凄絶な一代記『審美』。

Jun Nishio
Born in Osaka Prefecture.
While working as a hair and makeup artist for advertisements, commercials, and films, Nishio won the 2nd Haruhiko Oyabu Newcomer Award in 2018. In 2019, the author made a literary debut with *Baka’s Identity * a collection that included the award-winning title story; the work garnered significant attention and was adapted into a film released in 2025. A sequel,,” aja’s Identity ,second story has also been published.
Previous works include *Maruchi no Ko*, *Munenkinsha Chitose no Kokuhaku*, and *Flower Child*. The latest release is *Shinbi* , a harrowing biographical novel chronicling the life of a beautician who lived through the wartime and postwar eras.
