Where Promises Lie

She chases answers. He guards secrets. Until their worlds collide in fire.

Sylvie Calloway traded her HR job for a microphone and the camper van she built with her dad. Her true crime podcast is how she fights for justice when no one else will, and this season, she’s chasing the murder of a quiet data analyst the police have already written off.

Former Army Ranger Eli Bishop has one rule: no civilians. Definitely not a fearless, stubborn amateur sleuth who asks too many questions.

Now she’s living in the safe house above Sinclair’s offices and working the case by his side. And Eli is learning what every witness she’s ever interviewed already knows: people can’t help telling Sylvie their secrets. It’s impossible not to fall into her orbit.

He fights it. But he falls first, and he falls hard.

Late-night tea. Shared meals. Stolen touches. Conversations that run past midnight and leave them both wanting more than they should.

He lets her into everything…

except the truth about why Sinclair Security is investigating the same murder.

The truth could get her killed.

The lie could cost him her heart.

And the killer isn’t waiting for him to choose.
