The Tree of Ages

After a century spent as a tree, Finn awakens into a world she barely recognizes. Dark shapes lurk just out of sight, watching her every move as she tries to regain the memories of her past. As if by fate, travelers are drawn to her side. Scholars, thieves, and Iseult, a sellsword who seems to know more about her past than he’s letting on. When one of Finn’s companions is taken by the Faie, she will be forced to make a choice: rescue a woman she barely knows, or leave her newfound friends behind in search of an ancient relic that may hold the answers she so desperately seeks.

Finn doesn't remember much about her previous life, and in a world that has been changed by the wars of the Tuatha De, where trust is hard to come by, answers are even more difficult to find. Little does she know, an unknown evil tugs on the strings of fate, and the answers she so desperately seeks may be more important than she could have ever imagined.

War is coming. With the reappearance of the Tuatha De, the countryside is thrown into chaos. Entire villages have been obliterated. Magic users are suffering persecution along with the Faie, leaving droves of refuges to wait outside the gates of the great cities, hoping for the acceptance that will never come. After a brief reunion with her companions, Finn is stolen away during the night by an unseen foe. Lost and alone, she must put her trust in a stranger if she hopes to reach Migris alive. Yet, nothing is as it seems, and those she trusts most may be the ones to betray her.

A land in chaos. A city in ruins. Finn must reach the place where it all began, her peaceful meadow in Greenswallow, hoping to set right the wrongs of her past. Traveling forward blindly, she only wants to retrieve her memories and help Iseult, but little does she know, the fate of men and Faie alike hangs by a string, ready to be plucked by her fingers alone.

Now that her memories are back, Finn has a new mission. She must fight against her birthright while seeking vengeance against those who wronged her more than a century ago. Yet nothing is simple. Innocent lives hang in the balance, and Finn still does not truly know her enemy. Dark shadows lurk, waiting for the perfect opportunity to destroy everything she holds dear, and Finn’s magic alone cannot save them. 

A new era has dawned. The forces of humanity are crippled by the ever pressing threat of the Faie. War continues to tear apart the countryside, robbing those who remain of their last shreds of hope. While peace is only a distant dream for some, there exist the brave few who will stand and fight for what they believe in. Magic does not always mean death, and death does not always mean the end. Will love and loyalty prevail, or will those who strive for power and darkness put an end to innocence once and for all?

Finn thought she had found her happy ending, but she hadn’t considered the consequences of breaking the barrier to the in-between. The land is in chaos. Mages are pitted against non-magical humans, and the Faie are a threat to all. A powerful magic as old as time itself has returned to the land, and its sole intent to is to restore balance...and to punish those who threw everything off to begin with. Finn is one such person. Will she be powerful enough to stand up to an ancient god, or will the ones she loves pay the price for her actions?

A storm is brewing, pitting dragons against mortals, gods against Faie, and in the middle is Finn. Her magic is changing. Traps seem to lurk around every corner. The greatest trap of all, perhaps, is making a deal with a dragon, but she sees no other choice. If she doesn’t stand against the gods, no one will. Even if it means destroying who she is to become something else in the process.

The heartbeat of the land thrums louder and faster, like soldiers charging into war. Finn drew a line in the sand when she used the faie to attack her enemy. There is no going back from what she has become. And she’s done running.
