In the near future, eighteen-year-old Abbie Spencer and her family live hand-to-mouth in their decaying town of Eureka, California. When she’s lucky enough to secure a live-in servant job for the most affluent family in Port Allegiance, the sparkling city next door, she discovers her predecessor, Gia Quinn, didn’t quit voluntarily, as everyone believes, but that somebody inside the house had actually abducted her.

As Abbie sets course to solve the mystery of her disappearance, an unexpected visitor from her past appears, tempting her with a dangerous alliance. Despite the risks, they join forces and unbury the link between Gia and the rising body count at the local morgue. With the clock counting down to the next planned killing, will they stop the crime before it’s too late, or will those in power silence them?
