The Heart of Stone Adventures

A cast-off jester. A lamentable bit of larceny. When a fool is labeled a hero, will his contrary streak save his skin or be fatally side-splitting?

Malfred Murd just got downsized. Banished from his cushy life on the royal family’s private island, the talented yet belligerent joker relies on a bit of pickpocketing help from his incurably optimistic magpie sidekick to stave off starvation. But when he tries to turn in a stolen messenger bag for a reward, its desperate owner demands he assist her in rescuing her country … or face execution.

Panicking when he’s given the starring role of white knight while sinister foes wait in the wings, Malfred does his con-artist best to slip out of the job. Yet as he reluctantly pulls at the entangling threads of a convoluted plot, the former funnyman begins to feel some odd twinges of utterly inconvenient conscience.

Can the hapless harlequin juggle everyone’s expectations, or will he drop the ball and let fate have the last laugh?

Fool’s Proof is the dryly hilarious first book in The Malfred Murd Comic Fantasy Series. If you like unlikely heroes, a pinch of grit, and stories that keep you guessing, then you’ll love Eva Sandor’s intricate and irreverent romp.
