The Gate of Chalandros

Nalyx has dedicated his life to defending his world from the endless waves of demons attempting to cross the swirling portal that connects their worlds. But when a serious injury puts his career at risk, it’s temping to just drown his sorrows in a bottle of whisky… until he finds himself distracted by a beautiful woman with long, dark hair and no patience for nonsense. Nalyx has never considered himself the type to want a serious relationship. But there’s something about Gantalla that’s starting to make him reconsider…

With her green skin and black tail, it’s fairly obvious why the humans believe Gantalla is a demon. But her homeworld of Chalandros is dying, and crossing into the human world is her only chance for survival. Once disguised as a human, she intends to leave the city as quickly as possible and build a new life somewhere safe and quiet. But with no money or supplies, she finds herself getting dragged into the petty affairs of the locals – including playing nursemaid to an injured soldier. But getting involved with Nalyx would be a disaster. Gantalla needs to focus on making sure no one discovers what she really is, not on Nalyx’s cheeky smile and captivating physique!
