The Cycle of the Darkened Thread

One assassination… One impossible case… One destiny she never asked for…

Agent Mara Grayson does the job by the book. So when an envoy is murdered mid-flight on her watch — an impossible strike she couldn't stop, two of her own dead beside her — she's determined to find who's responsible, no matter whose name it drags down. The trail leads out of Aetheria's gleaming towers and into a conspiracy of trafficked dragon eggs that runs far deeper than a single killing.

Far away, on the volcano-crowned world of Pyrax, a dragon seer named Aelora reads a warning in the fabric of fate — and a name only she and her council know. An ancient prophecy speaks of the Seraphant: a power born when a human and a dragon bind soul to soul. Aelora has seen the human the prophecy names. It's Mara.

Mara has never believed in destiny. But the deeper her case runs, the harder it becomes to deny that something vast is moving beneath it — and that the answer isn't in any rule she's ever trusted. It's in Aelora, and in a power neither of them understands.

Seraphant is the first book of The Cycle of the Darkened Thread — an epic science-fantasy of dragons, prophecy, and a galaxy on the edge of the abyss.
