Summoners and Spellcasters

Nicole Rubino's new dark romantasy series for fans of Jeanette Rose and Alexis Rune's Avalon University series and Rachel Gillig's One Dark Window, follows Azura Everton, a spellcaster with a magical learning disability, as she learns to control her volatile fire magic against the backdrop of the lethal Starshadow Academy of Wielding, but all hope of control and discipline is flushed down the drain as students begin disappearing and mysterious attacks upon her result in her enemies bleeding from their ears and eyes.

They say Starshadow Academy of Wielding will either make you or kill you. For Azura Everton, it might just do both.

All twenty-three year old Azura has ever wanted is to be normal, like every other Summoner and Spellcaster. But when you're cursed, normal is a fantasy. Her last hope lies within the deadly walls of Starshadow Academy of Wielding, where magic is power, secrets are currency, and failure means death.

At Starshadow, she will finally learn to wield her Element, the most unpredictable and volatile one of all: Fire. Born with a magical learning disability, Azura is sure the Element will kill her. That is, until the school assigns her a tutor - the notorious Evrin Blackwood.

Brilliant. Ruthless. Arrogant. The most powerful Fire wielder of his generation. He’s everything Azura hates, and everything her magic craves. Azura can’t deny how her power strengthens with him by her side…or the forbidden attraction sizzling between them.

But something is wrong at Starshadow.

Not only are students disappearing, but when Azura is attacked, her enemies bleed from their eyes and ears, even though she never lays a hand on them. Yet, Evrin is always close. Too close. Watching her like he knows what’s coming.

As dangerous truths unravel - about her curse, her bloodline, and the Academy itself, Azura begins to wonder if she can trust anyone - including Evrin.

And if Starshadow doesn’t kill her, the truth will.
