Slipper and Friends

While Slipper is a small little cat new to the world, she is not afraid of exploring! Still, this new house feels big and lonely, and Slipper feels a bit scared. Slipper Has a New Home is the first in a series of Slipper and Friends books by Tess Rixen, a 13-year-old author who devotes most of her time to writing and only writing. Here, Slipper tells of the hard transition of moving from an old home into a new one. 

As she transfers to not only a new home, but a new owner, Slipper is connected to human feelings of this situation in real life. Most young kids will feel sad, confused, and/or scared in this kind of scenario. Leaving old friends, meeting new people around the neighborhood, adjusting to a new place, and creating new friendships is not an easy task.
