Ret Cooper is a simple young man with mysterious origins, unique physical features, and no memory of his past. His new family and friends discover he is truly extraordinary, with supernatural powers and strange scars on the palms of his hands. But what is his destiny? The Oracle is the key to Earth's unity and full potential, too perfect to be man-made. Legend claims it can unleash limitless power when filled with Mother Nature's six pure, original elements. But where are these elements? Ret’s second scar makes its explosive debut. More of our world’s mysteries lead him to Fire Island and the second element. Ancient artifacts, a hot-air balloon, lines in the desert, a city in the mountains, tribal societies, and even the navel of the world all play their parts in Ret’s continued quest to fill the Oracle. 

A third scar appears, pointing Ret to the Amazon rain forest, the Sahara Desert, and ultimately the City of Gold. Trouble at every turn, in lands where deadly curses abound. Somewhere, between golden arches and ancient ruins, an age-old secret is waiting to be uncovered. Ret’s enemies are multiplying, a grim reality that will try the hearts of his friends. The Oracle is wasting no time now, clearly hastening the gathering of its elements. Things are in full motion; Ret feels this. So does Lye; he is ready - and waiting.  

The mounting burdens finally become too much for Ret, and he abandons his destiny to “cure the world”. But the Oracle has much more to teach our young hero, even powers unseen. Things heat up and then really cool down as the quest for the fourth element extends to the bottom of the globe. Join Ret as he braves an abominable snow beast, ventures deep inside Antarctica’s most ancient glacier, and then needs help from a certain loved one as he comes face-to-face with his toughest challenge yet: himself.  

Thanks to an ally at Waters Deep, our heroes learn a secret that takes them to a mysterious tree in Russia where Ret discovers a land lost in time. The stakes are high as the quest to fill the Oracle takes on a whole new dimension, including Lye's plan that eliminates his need of Ret entirely. Find out what the past can reveal about the present in the adventure to collect the fifth element - an adventure that will teach Ret about a different kind of element by revealing the mutant in us all.
