For the first three Audible books, McLarty is joined by American actress Orlagh Cassidy, who perfectly captures the attitudes of the female protagonists. When it comes to the explosive final instalment of the Puller series, Cassidy teams up with the accomplished Kyf Brewer, a regular narrator of the Danielle Steele novels.

Following the success of his earlier political thrillers, including Absolute Power and The Camel Club, Baldacci turned to the military to find inspiration for the John Puller series. First published in 2011, when American troops were still on the ground in Iraq, Baldacci went to great lengths to understand the hearts and minds of American military personnel. In fact, he spent time at a military base and underwent a gruelling functional fitness training course.

A testament to his stories universal appeal, Baldacci’s titles are available in over 45 different languages and published in more than 80 countries. A regular on the New York Times’ best seller list, the John Puller series has even been picked up by Fox for a TV adaptation.
