House of Cards

Evergreen Academy was meant to be my fresh start. My hair was on point. My skin was flawless. And now I wore the hell out of my clothes instead of hiding them. Even running into Ryder hadn't thrown me. So what that the silver-eyed devil who tormented me for years now ruled my new school with a band of boys everyone called the Knights? The four of them were devastatingly rich, enviously handsome...and heartbreakingly cruel.

It wasn't supposed to be like this. Evergreen Academy was meant to be my fresh start. My hair was on point. My skin was flawless. And now, I wore the hell out of my clothes instead of hiding them. Even running into Ryder hadn't thrown me. So what if the silver-eyed devil who tormented me for years now ruled my new school with a band of boys everyone called the Knights. The four of them were devastatingly rich, enviously handsome...and heartbreakingly cruel.

They broke me. Ryder, Maverick, Ezra, and Jaxson didn't think I would come back for my second year. The coldly cruel knights of Evergreen believed the Mark would be all it took to get rid of me. To keep me quiet. But now, I've got a whole new reason to stay. Those four will know a pain far worse than what I've endured. They tore me apart until there was nothing left...and now, I'm going to return the favor.

I never thought I could forgive them. I didn't believe there was still a heart inside of me that could forgive. But my boys, my knights, were taking down my walls and claiming a piece for themselves. All I wanted was to lock our secret away and enter junior year as though the past never happened...but someone won't let me. Someone knows what we did and the price for their silence may be more than I can give.

They are everything to me. I love Jaxson, Ezra, Maverick, and Ryder the same and in vastly different ways all at once. It's a love that threatens to consume me. To take over every waking second of my final year...if only hidden enemies, ancient secret societies, and unsolved murders weren't also competing for my attention. This will be my hardest term yet. Not just for the horror of the present, but for the uncertainty of my future. How can I have a life with my knights when someone is determined that I don't survive my senior year at all? But I will find them. I will expose them.

Evergreen Academy was supposed to be my fresh start……and Somerset University my second chance. All I wanted was normal. Normal classes. Normal professors. Normal sorority. I wanted the Somerset Sallys to be like every other Greek house. I wanted the pretty, fun, sweet sisters to be genuine. I wanted the smile of their enigmatic leader not to conceal a secret. And I wanted the story they told me to be true. I should have known that was too much to ask.

I don't know the secrets that lurk within my sorority, and apparently neither does anyone else. My search for the truth behind the disappearances meets with blank stares and pleas of innocence. But someone knows. They're watching. They're waiting. They're hiding. They're attacking the man I love. The only way to put an end to it is to bend the Sallys to my will. I'm taking over and hunting the kidnappers down. Before the next person to disappear is me.

The more answers I unearthed, the less I understood. I stepped into this game not knowing the rules, and now, they’re playing me to their beat. Old faces reappear. New friends circle. I got closer to the puppeteer as they got ever closer to me. And when they struck, I wasn’t ready.
