Definitely Dominguita

All Dominguita wants to do is read. Especially the books in Spanish that Abuela gave to her just before she moved away. They were classics that Abuela and Dominguita read together, classics her abuela brought with her all the way from Cuba when she was a young girl. It helps Dominguita feel like Abuela’s still there with her. One of her favorites, Don Quixote, tells of a brave knight-errant who tries to do good deeds. Dominguita decides that she, too, will become a knight and do good deeds around her community, creating a grand adventure for her to share with her abuela.

After Dominguita finds an old map in the back of a copy of Treasure Island, she is excited to see a big X on the map. Because everyone knows that X marks the spot for treasure! When Dom shows her friends Pancho and Steph, they don’t think the map is real. But after a little investigating, they discover there’s real treasure at stake! And there are a few other people who want that treasure, too. Can Dom and her friends figure out a way to return the special treasure to one of their favorite people before it falls into the wrong hands?

When Señor Fuentes asks Dominguita to run a very important errand to put an order in at the local butcher shop for his granddaughter Leni’s upcoming quinceañera — Dom is happy to help. But when Señor Fuentes discovers his order has gone missing and the food for the party has been sold to someone else, it becomes Dom’s next mission to find out what happened. 

Dominguita can’t wait to go on a mini-vacation with her friend Steph! They are visiting Steph’s river cabin, where they hope they will get to have another adventure - even though Dom is a little nervous about the wildlife (like spiders and mice)! As soon as they arrive, they find out that a neighbor has lost their beloved goat, Esther! Dom and Steph are determined to solve the mystery and use the methods of Dom’s favorite detective, Sherlock Holmes, to bring Esther back home.
