DI Carrie Tyler

Two people consumed by grief.

One seeks salvation.

The other, revenge.

Two years after losing her husband in the line of duty, DI Carrie Tyler is finally stepping back into the field. When tragedy strikes again in the form of apparent, drug-related gang killings, Carrie must lead her team into the shadows of Arthwaite’s streets to find a killer.

Then the letters arrive.

A million and one people interacted with my daughter while she was alive. It took only six to kill her. One by one, they will pay the price...

As the murders escalate and the killer closes in on their next target, Carrie races to unravel the truth: whose daughter died, who killed her, and most chilling of all—how far grief can drive a person down the path of revenge.

In this relentless hunt for justice, time is running out before the third murder. But in a case where every choice feels personal, Carrie must confront not just the killer’s motives, but the demons she’s been running from herself.

Because in the end, grief is connected to love, and always demands its due. This isThe Price We Pay.
