Gallia's Triumvirate

A rider will emerge from amongst the fae.

She is of the sea, air, and land.

She will be a thread, and a bridge, and a vessel, and a sword.

She will usher in the triumvirate era.

With those four lines, the three elder dragons known to humankind as the Immortals had ushered in the Triumvirate Age.

Thus, entangling the destinies of the human kingdom of Altus and the fae kingdom of Kanavara, not just as allies in the fight against a resurgent Bilal, but as a family linked by dragon blood.

But as Kanavara and Altus moved into a war footing, the Immortals had unexpected plans for Tzi.

She was on a different path.

One that led her away from the fight at their borders.

Tzi was to stand for the Dragon Trials. With only eighteen months to prepare for a trial that usually took a decade of training, her Tauran teachers were fully committed to honing her and Mica into the weapon they would need to be to survive.

Though Tzi had accepted this pronouncement as her destiny, she still had questions. Why now?

Why this task when their countries were at war?

Did the Immortals see the future or were they just a bunch of geriatric dragons?

Did the path to victory really lead to a three-day trial for glory and the title of Master Dragon Rider?

Regardless, she’d accepted that this was her path, wherever it led, whatever it meant for her.

She would follow it to the end on blind faith if that was required.

She would become the triumvirate’s sword or die trying.
