Josh Miller and his wife, Kayden, leave their old life in Madison, Indiana, behind and move with their young son, Devon, into an isolated lakeside home in Michigan. With four bedrooms, acres of land, and a private dock, the house seems almost too perfect—especially for the unusually low price.

Then they learn the truth.

Years ago, a young girl named Sara Hartley drowned in the lake behind the house. Since her death, families have reported unexplained cold spots, moving objects, voices in empty rooms, and terrifying visions. None of them stayed for long.

Soon, Devon begins speaking to an invisible little girl named Sara.

At first, Josh and Kayden believe she is only an imaginary friend. But when faucets turn on by themselves, threatening messages appear inside the house, and a sinister presence begins controlling their thoughts and bodies, the Millers realize Sara is real.

And she is not the spirit they should fear.

Something older and far more dangerous is trapped inside the house. It can imitate the people they trust, twist their deepest desires, and possess anyone who stands in its way. As the evil presence grows stronger, Josh must uncover the truth about Sara’s death before the entity claims his wife, his son, and everyone who enters the house.

But even if they survive the haunting, the final secret waiting inside the house may be more terrifying than the demon itself.
