A Duke Dempsey Mystery

Duke Dempsey is a private investigator in 1938 Charleston, SC. He is thrust into the case of a lifetime when the Vatican comes calling and hires him to find an invaluable relic. Charleston is also hit with the mysterious murders of a prominent priest of St. Patrick's Cathedral and a local cop. Duke is forced into a partnership with the presiding detective, Johnny Stampkin, to find the relic and solve the murders. The case takes a multitude of twists and turns as they navigate through Roman Catholic puzzles, Civil War secrets, and a Nazi assassin. 

Super sleuth Duke Dempsey is at it again when he is drawn into a world of corruption, deception, and murder. An assassinated mayor, the mob, and corruption that reaches the highest levels of government takes Duke on a journey that brings him face to face with his past. All the answers he seeks are in an elusive ledger that he must bring to light. 

The poisoning of a distinguished history professor sets off a chain of events that puts Inspector Duke Dempsey on the hunt of a lifetime for the legendary hidden treasure of Blackbeard. The old-fashioned treasure hunt brings the super sleuth head-to-head against a secret sect that has ties to the upper echelons of the Charleston aristocracy. As the body count rises, he must beat them to the treasure and uncover the mastermind behind the ritualistic murders.
