The Importance of Being Earnest is a very popular play written by Oscar Wilde. In the satire, Algernon and Jack are two young members of the English gentry who pursue their romantic desires dishonestly. Both men want to adopt the name "Ernest," who is Jack's imaginary younger brother. The idea of name changing comes about when Algernon wants to marry Cecily, and Jack wants to marry Gwendolen. However, it just so happens that Cecily and Gwendolen are only interested in marrying men named Ernest!

The Canarviers are the premier performance thieves in New Washington, blending astonishing acrobatics, clever misdirection, and daring escapes to entertain their rich patrons. As King Canarvier has always told his children, their work is art. Who else could titillate audiences with illicit history lessons and tease them through the gaps in their much-prized security?

Bash Everette's reputation precedes him as a reckless, irresponsible, eternal bachelor who never takes anything seriously. Only he's been living in his personal form of hell. One where the days meld together into a sea of everlasting boredom. That's until he catches Anastasia Volkov, disguised as her brother, attempting to steal from the Order of Saints. Shattering every preconceived notion he has of the perfect society princess. She's like a live wire, shocking his heart back to life, stealing every ounce of his attention.

Murder comes in two familiar forms. Whether as a crime of passion with high emotions or a cold dispassionate plot to take life in order to gain in some way, the act strikes us all as somehow inhuman. Beneath us as civilised beings. But however we cloak our animal instincts the need to remove a human being and gain relief from abuse or gain from money, the term is just the same – MURDER. Robert Louis Stevenson, Arthur Conan Doyle, J M Barrie, W W Jacobs and many others bring their literary heft to bear in as calculating a way as any killer could.

He won't let the children play in his garden. What can give him a change of heart?

Written during his time in Reading Gaol, De Profundis is Oscar Wilde's moving letter to Lord Alfred Douglas, whose relationship with Wilde led to the poet's imprisonment. Here Wilde repudiates Lord Alfred and reflects on his ordeal, acknowledging how the depths of his sorrow have helped liberate him toward a fuller, freer wisdom. Brimming with beautiful passages, De Profundis is a profound and inspiring treatise on the meaning of suffering.

Two rivals. One law internship. A whole lot of objectionable activity. It wasn’t always this way between us. We were best friends growing up. Competitive? Yeah. Ruthless? Definitely. Neither of us liked to lose. But the intense chemistry? That’s new. The hatred in his eyes? That’s new, too. I should let it go. There’s too much bad blood between our families. Between us. But I can’t. I don’t think he can, either. Now we’re gunning for the same internship. If he thinks I’ll back down, he’s dead wrong. Once upon a time, I lost everything. I won’t let it happen again.

In De Profundis, Oscar Wilde, in a lengthy letter to his former lover, reflects on suffering, forgiveness, and redemption. As a confessional text, it ranks with the Confessions of Saint Augustine as an examination of the nature of penitence, its origin and transformative effect. T. W. H. Crosland (1865-1924), a social commentator, was extremely moralistic. Among his targets was Oscar Wilde, whose contrition, as expressed in De Profundis, he believed to be an elaborate and convenient sham.

This is one of the great recordings of a great play. John Gielgud stars as Earnest and Edith Evans gives her indomitable performance as Lady Bracknell in this classic radio recording from 1951.

A deliciously airily irresponsible comedy. Such is the The Importance of Being Earnest, the most personally characteristic expression of Wilde's art, and the last of the dramatic productions written under his own name. The dialogue has all the sparkle of bubbles from a gushing spring, and is brim-full of quaint conceits and diverting paradoxes.

A House of Pomegranates (1891) is a collection of four fairy tales by Oscar Wilde: "The Young King," "The Birthday of the Infanta," "The Fisherman and His Soul," and "The Star Child." These magical, beautiful, tragic, and cynical tales will charm listeners of any age. Narrated by Noel Badrian, and performed by a full cast.

Three of his brothers have found females including producing offspring. Now, their father has issued a command that all princes not bound must find a lover and reproduce.
