Now, he's come to Frontier Falls. It's a little settlement where humans and vampires have made peace. But if there's one thing Cross knows, it's vampires, and any deal they make is one just waiting to be broken.

I didn't think retiring to Mexico with my Russian girlfriend would last—turns out I was right. What we didn't expect was that we'd be embroiled in a secret war between Heaven and Hell. Yeah, demons and angels exist, and they're about as powerful and deadly as we've been led to believe. To even the odds a little, the agency has decked me out with an arsenal that takes the best from above and the best from below. And humanity aren't exactly slouches, either. We have occultists–humans capable of bending supernatural creatures to their will.

With the forbidden ones now causing chaos around the world of Risona, other kingdoms are in trouble and need help. They are notified that enchanted weapons have been located and send delegates to negotiate for said weapons, but as they travel, they are accosted throughout the journey. Dom and his family are trying to deal with the soldiers and people who are sent to the fortress by their queens. When tempers flare and get out of hand, it results in death.

Guilds everywhere want to snuff us out before we can even get off the ground, and enemies from outside of Millbank and even Earth are determined to take us down. It's a good thing there are expansion weapon cards that might just help us even the odds a little.

I guess you could call my latest job interview a success. I got hired, and it's way beyond my wildest dreams. The pay isn't great. And the hours are pretty much 24/7. But there's magic. And a portal to a fantasy world. Those kind of outweigh the negatives. At first, I thought I was just testing the latest VR survival RPG, but I'm starting to think this might not be a game after all. The monsters are definitely life-like and capable of carving me apart on their worst days. But on their best days, I make them mine.

A vacation in Scotland sounded nice. Exactly the kind of thing where my girlfriend Jasmine and I could let off some steam after learning the supernatural existed and completing our first mission for a supernatural agency. But there really is no rest for the wicked. Along with Breeze, our friendly (and beautiful) warlock companion, Jasmine and I get tagged by a group calling themselves the Family.
