I thought being her guardian would be the last shake up in my life, but I was wrong.

My brothers knew I had my eye on Jordyn and told me to stay away. She was everything I ever wanted in a woman—beautiful, smart, and confident. Jordyn wasn't just any MC princess. She was one of Kat's younger sisters, and most of the old heads in the club watched her grow up.

I had no idea the Reapers Rejects MC had agreed to take me under their wing. It turned out, the club promised my father they'd keep me safe in exchange for information, and my job offer was nothing more than them keeping their end of the deal. There I was, in a place I wasn't genuinely wanted.

I shouldn't have even looked at her, and I sure as f*** shouldn't have kissed her. That's when things started to get messy. Her father hated me and believed I was out to screw over his club, but I wasn't. I had no loyalty to the person who left me for dead and soon enough Zane would have to see that. I wasn't just Zane's prisoner anymore, I became one to Sydney's heart. It didn't matter how much her father took his rage out on me, I wasn't going to stop caring for her.

So much had happened with the club and the people my brothers' loved. I thought we were for sure going to be getting a break from the chaos for once. After being in the military, I thought we deserved a break. Just like always, life didn’t believe we earned one. Hawk's sister showed up at the clubhouse one day out of the blue. I remember the look of pure exhaustion weighing over her soft features. She confessed that she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She was essentially homeless with no place to go.

Over my entire life, I always saw my fair share of action. I saw more of it than most between my time serving in the United States Marines, and being the Prez of the Deathstalkers MC. A good friend came to me and let me know Hermione was missing. Hermione, the owner of the local coffee shop, who I'd been friends with for years. I had a member of my club look into Hermione's electronic footprint, and I retraced every step. I knew I'd find her, because I didn't have another option. Lo and behold, I find her in the last place I expected her to be—in my enemy's clutches.

At a club barbeque we were shot up by enemies. I was with our VP's daughter and covered her body to shield her from the gunfire. Thankfully, she was spared from the bullets, but I wasn't as lucky. I could barely breathe and blood was effortlessly flowing out of my body. The club kept me alert until the paramedics got there, and the woman in the back kept me awake. She told me things and was kind. I knew in that moment I wanted to see her again, but now it's months later and I think I've lost out on my chance of finding her again.

Being a Nomad, I always thought it was best for my boy to be with his momma. I was constantly on the road and it wasn't the place for a kid. Sure, I wanted him with me as much as possible, but constantly moving isn't the type of life I wanted for him. Now, things have changed and I'm not ridin' around the States as much as I used to. Sure, I still go out, but we have a satellite club in Tallahassee. When my son begged for me to let him move in with me . . . I knew something happened, but when he told me, I saw red.

Life doesn’t prepare you for this type of shit. The mother of my children is dead and now I’m on my way back to Tallahassee. I told my sons what happened, but my daughter’s another story. She’s so young, so innocent, and I don’t want to rip her heart open, but I can't lie to her.

We only lived in peace for a month before the Culebra cartel sent us a message: they wanted revenge for what we did to Roque. We killed him, and in doing so, we thought the cartel would fall. Little did we know the cartel didn’t die with Roque, instead someone else claimed his power. Now we’re dealing with an enemy we don’t even know.
