Alisa and Dracula are rushed on board of the ship. Both badly wounded and unconscious. What the hell happened to Alisa and her friends in the standoff against Dracula and his Upiry army? Lars feels he let everybody down, but Inger and Ivy try to convince him that he needs to be strong and find a way to get Alisa to wake up.

Alisa wants to go after Lars and free him from his uncle. But first Alisa, Ivy and Inger need to save the other Heirs from the sun and hungry jaws surrounding them. Calvina is released from her prison as the Heirs need all help they can get trying to get Lars back. Alisa learns that the hooded stranger is the key to finding out where Ragnar has taken Lars and the Rubies.

In the cave Alisa and the Heirs have to face the five dangerous tests of humanity. But the closer Alisa gets to finding the Knot, the more of her friends she needs to leave behind. Will she be able to get them back and who will stop Dracula from untying the Knot first?
