This rendition of my encounters is a simple, pared-down telling of every paranormal encounter I have ever had - all 40+ years' worth. Since I'm extremely private, putting myself out there is not easy for me. As far as proper grammar goes, please bear with me. I’m a simple Southern girl from the USA, and the way I speak and write might not be proper, but it is me. I did work with an editor to make it more intelligible, but I was reticent about having my Southerners' style removed entirely. My prose may not sound correct at times, but that’s just who I am.

After Harley Harper is stood up on her wedding day in Manhattan, she points her car west in search of a silver lining. Landing in Stoneybrook, Oregon, she buys the Redneck Ranch, where she finds comfort among her menagerie of misfit animals. Harley tries to settle into her new normal. But a dead body in her dilapidated barn, a fire threatening her ranch, and the arrival of her ex-betrothed, keep her life in upheaval. And Stone County’s handsome sheriff has her feeling anything but normal.

Outside the facility, the peace laws must be observed. For a hundred and fifty points, you can spend an hour with a designated scapegoat. No one outside will ever know what you do there. You are encouraged to shout, to complain, to cry, if it will help to calm you. For two hundred points, you may strike them. They will never strike back. Abrasions, heavy bruising, first degree burns, are five hundred. The scapegoats will endure it and they will never name you or your... needs. A few thousand if your rage requires you to break a bone. Scapegoats are not law-abiding like you. They deserve it.
