Beginning her career as a news journalist, Bourne then spent six years working as an editor and relationship advisor for youth charity TheSite.org before becoming a full-time author. Known for her critically acclaimed Spinster Club series, Bourne’s latest book, her debut adult title, How Do You Like Me Now?, was published in May 2018.

Magid, born in Somalia, came to Britain as a refugee in 1994. He grew up in Sheffield and completed a travelling gap year before studying at the University of Hull, where his foray into politics began, being elected as Students Union president. Entering the world of work, Magid was elected as a Green Party councillor on Sheffield City Council in 2016, and from 2018-2019 he served as lord mayor.

Author of Do No Harm and a memoir titled Admissions, both of which became Sunday Times best sellers, Marsh has documented his career as a neurosurgeon. He spent two decades as senior consultant at St George’s hospital in London, one of the countries largest specialist units for neurosurgery, as well as travelling to Ukraine, Nepal and the United States of America to perform surgeries. Since retiring from full-time work at the NHS, Marsh has been undergoing treatment after receiving a diagnosis of advanced prostate cancer.

Most recognized for his award-winning young adult novel Junk (1996), which won the Carnegie Medal and Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize, Melvin Burgess is back with a new fantasy thriller, The Lost Witch. Melvin Burgess talks to us about his first young adult novel in years, what he’s reading at the moment and the success of Junk.
