When attending the Leeds School for the Blind, he forms a gang of seven who successfully achieve this aim.

De er succesrige, ser godt ud, kommer alle de rigtige steder og er stort set lykkelige. Godt nok keder Stijn sig lidt ude i deres hus i forstaden, hvor de er flyttet ud, efter at de er blevet forældre. Men det kan der kompenseres for med heftige byture i det amsterdamske natteliv og et enkelt lille sidespring – eller fem. Det er ikke, fordi han ikke elsker Carmen. Han kan bare ikke lade være.

Det er synd for Stijn. Frygtelig synd, at han nu er alene tilbage med Luna, efter at hans smukke Carmen er død.Så synd, at han bliver nødt til at gå i byen hver aften og vælte sig i sprut og coke og damer. Den søde Roos er der selvfølgelig stadig som en fast støtte, og det er dejligt at nyde lidt hjemlig hygge med hende en gang om ugen. Hun må bare for alt i verden ikke opdage, hvor mange kvinder han ellers har gang i. Vildere og vildere bliver det, indtil han får et wake up-call, der får ham til at huske sit løfte til Carmen: ´Jeg skal nok passe godt på din datter.´
