In un mondo globalizzato, per comprendere se stessi è bene attingere alle intuizioni di ogni epoca e Paese, in particolare includendo le comprensioni che le civiltà dell'Oriente hanno posto alla base di una vita vissuta in sintonia con il flusso dell'esistenza. Quell'anelito e quella brama da sempre hanno portato qualcuno a ricercare, a sperimentare, a percepire la vita con totalità e passione, immergendosi nella contemplazione dell'esistenza a tal punto da giungere a una dissoluzione in quello stesso mistero. Una fusione in cui la melodia dell'immortale prende il sopravvento, rendendo chi si risveglia a tale immensità vettore di verità e testimone vivente di ciò che ognuno di noi è, in potenza: il luogo in cui l'universo prende coscienza di sé.

All’origine esiste un cielo vuoto che inizia a pulsare e subito si dispiega in vibrazioni, forme, sensazioni, emozioni, immagini. Seguito da balbettii, gesti, pensieri, azioni, proiezioni e quant’altro implica esistere in questo mondo. Nell’essere umano quell’intero processo si lega a un profondo bisogno di significato, quasi dovesse assolvere un compito esistenziale che lo spinge a cercare, a cercarsi, a trascendere; ma anche a creare teorie e costrutti mentali che possano esorcizzare un intimo richiamo verso qualcosa di inesplicabile.

Osho describes love as transformation. It is painful because it transforms and transformation is going to be painful because the old has to be left for the new. While the old is familiar, secure, safe, the new is absolutely unknown. With love we will be moving in an uncharted ocean.

Osho responds to a question related to compassion. "Only compassion is therapeutic - because all that is ill in man is because of lack of love. All that is wrong with man is somewhere associated with love. He has not been able to love, or he has not been able to receive love. He has not been able to share his being. That’s the misery. That creates all sorts of complexes inside."

Osho speaks about George Gurdjieff, one of the most significant masters of this age. He used to say, "You are in prison." If you wish to get out of prison - the first thing you must do is realize that you are in prison...or you are the prison. Osho emphasizes this as something to be always remembered as one of the first principles for any seeker of truth.

The story of Mojud which Osho introduces here is one of the greatest stories. It has that special flavor that only a Sufi story can have. It is incomparable. It is not just a story; Sufi stories are not just stories. They are not to entertain, but they are teaching devices.

Responses to a question on how to explore the higher states of consciousness. According to Osho there are not many ways to explore higher levels of consciousness, there is but one: the way of awareness. "Man is almost unconscious. I say “almost” - there are moments, situations where he becomes conscious, but they are momentary."
