This anthology of thirty-five children's poems was first published in 1927. It is the second collection by Milne of children's poetry, following When We Were Very Young, which was released in 1924. Now We Are Six is notable for the appearance of the lovable bear, Winnie the Pooh who is featured in several poems and whose adventures are described in the Winnie The Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner.

The first complete collection of A. A. Milne’s short fiction for grown-ups, including several newly discovered stories. He paints memorable scenes – from a children’s birthday party, to an accidental encounter with murder, and a case of blackmail – often with an unexpected twist. But he also deals in poignancy, from the girl who pulls the wool over her boyfriend’s eyes, to a first dance and first disappointment or family reunion and domestic dissonance.

Antony Gillingham arrives at the Red House moments after a gunshot is heard. The room is locked, the murderer has disappeared and, in Antony's opinion, the police are going about it the wrong way.
