In The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry provides a roadmap for the human soul. A stranded pilot meets a golden-haired boy from Asteroid B-612 who reveals the absurdity of "grown-ups"—those so consumed by authority and figures that they have forgotten how to live.

Two masterpieces of literature are united in this essential volume. The Little Prince and A Little Princess may appear different—one a philosophical fable of space travel, the other a grounded Victorian drama—but together they weave a tapestry of resilience and hope.

"The Little Prince" was published in 1943 by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It is a poetic tale in which a pilot strands in the desert and meets a young prince fallen to Earth from a tiny asteroid. The story is philosophical and includes social criticism, remarking on the strangeness of the adult world. While it looks like a children's book, it targets adult relationships with deep thoughts on how adults perceive life and each other. "Children should show great understanding towards grown-ups".

The poignant life-and-death odyssey begins when the Little Prince mysteriously appears in the Sahara Desert and says to a downed Aviator, "If you please, draw me a sheep". The startled Aviator complies, but his drawing is rejected, and a conversation ensues with the Little Prince asking numerous questions and telling stories about the very strange grown-ups encountered on his interplanetary journey to Earth. It is later revealed that the Little Prince must return home to asteroid B612 to care for his rose, the one (and only) flower on his small and desolate planet.

A pilot is lost in the Sahara Desert after his plane suffered a breakdown, but to his surprise, that's where he meets a small prince from another planet. The story has a philosophical theme, which includes social criticisms aimed at the strangeness with which adults see things.
