The Bible says God is personally, purposefully involved in all that’s taking place here on earth. He’s reigning over each tear and scar and crisis and conflict. Heaven is ruling, always ruling. That doesn’t mean we won’t experience distress, but it does mean we can find a refuge by looking upward and letting His peace rule in our hearts. Using the timeless book and example of Daniel as a guide, author Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth reveals how seeing our lives and world through the lens of Heaven’s rule can shield us from panic and give us renewed hope and

The heart of the biblical understanding of idolatry, argues Gregory Beale, is that we take on the characteristics of what we worship. Employing Isaiah 6 as his interpretive lens, Beale demonstrates that this understanding of idolatry permeates the whole canon, from Genesis to Revelation. Beale concludes with an application of the biblical notion of idolatry to the challenges of contemporary life.

Just as undertaking a journey into an unfamiliar land or climbing a mountain requires an experienced and knowledgeable guide, so also an experienced and trusted spiritual guide, a mystagogue, is needed for the spiritual journey, to ascend Mount Sinai and encounter the mysterious God in its darkness, and to climb Mount Tabor and behold the mystery of the transfigured Lord, and to be initiated into the mysteries of the Jerusalem above, our Mother, the Church. The Orthodox Way is such a guide, a book that takes the listener into the very mystery of God, and now speaks to us.

A thorough introduction to the four biblical Gospels and their subject—the life and person of Jesus. Like different artists who render the same subject using unique styles and points of view, the Gospels paint four distinctive portraits of the same Jesus of Nazareth. To Christians worldwide...

God Speaks begins by exploring and asserting a number of problematic issues facing popular notions of inspiration today. Gordon then begins to offer an interdisciplinary solution utilizing Thomas Jay Oord's theology of essential kenosis and revealing how it provides a better theological basis for developing a doctrine of biblical inspiration. If God cannot control the biblical authors, then what they produce as the biblical text is not revelation in and of itself, but a contextualized human response to that revelation.

Only after we have exhausted the entirety of apocalyptic uses of each of these symbols may we look to unrelated scripture for supporting terms and characteristics attached to the symbol being scrutinized. By this method, the Bible offers us some very clear explanations and interpretations for...

What did that blue tree mean in your dream last night? Was it because of the pizza you had for dinner, or was God speaking to you? Many believers really want to understand their dreams but aren't sure where to start. In Night Vision, Dr. Charles Fox lays a solid foundation by offering the biblical basis for dreams and then shares his own personal journey of actual dream encounters and their interpretations. Practical advice, common dream symbols, and prayers of activation into greater night encounters with the Lord remind the listener to stay grounded in the Word of God.

Some verses in Paul's letters mislead women into thinking that God considers them to be inferior beings—passages such as, "I do not allow a woman to teach", "A woman must not speak in the ecclesia", "Man came before woman", and so forth. In Eve Raised, Martin Zender turns orthodoxy on its head, demonstrating that not only do these verses not disparage women, they actually show woman to be a superior creation worthy of protection.

First published in 1970, this book helped spur the modern rise of postmillennialism. Revelation's details are often perplexing, even baffling, and yet its main meaning is clear: It is a book about victory. It tells us that our faith can only result in victory. "This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith" (1 John 5:4). This is why knowing Revelation is so important. It assures us of our victory and celebrates it. Genesis 3 tells us of the fall of man into sin and death. Revelation gives us man's victory in Christ over sin and death.

The Old Testament is a most valuable book of scripture. It teaches the mercy and willingness of Jehovah, the premortal Jesus Christ, to forgive. It teaches and illustrates time and again what kinds of thinking and actions we need to avoid if we desire to remain firmly on the covenant path. And it teaches how to repent and return to Christ, whose arms of mercy are extended all the day long (Isaiah 65:2), inviting us to repent. In this third edition, noted teacher and gospel scholar David J. Ridges brings the Old Testament to life with his well-known teaching skills.

Men who were led by the hand or groped their way along the wall to reach Jesus were touched by his finger and went home without a guide, rejoicing that Jesus Christ had opened their eyes. Jesus is still able to perform such miracles. And with the power of the Holy Spirit, his Word will be expounded and we’ll watch for the signs to follow, expecting to see them at once. I work to speak straight to your hearts and consciences, and if there is anyone with faith to receive, God will bless them with fresh revelation.

All of us have personal prejudices and attitudes which need to be challenged. Jonah is a perfect example of a person just like us who came face-to-face with his own stinking thinking. As you listen to this book, you will be challenged to look for areas that may be keeping you from being your very best. This simple book will hopefully create a desire to lay aside preconceived notions about others. Take Jonah's journey with him, and learn from his inner battle.

The selections made in this volume shed light on these esoteric doctrines, revealing intimate conversations between Jesus and his disciples. The Gospel of Mary Magdalene throws new light on his relationship with this favorite disciple. The Gospel of Thomas contains concentrated mini-parables, containing deep inward and symbolic meaning, many of which are not found in the New Testament. The texts chosen are relevant to many of the perplexities of contemporary life and deal with the questions of good and evil, sin and suffering, and the path to salvation.

As indicated by the title, this book presents a very critical look at the doctrine of Hell, which is rarely criticized within Christendom today. In the scriptures, there is no mention of "eternal torment" in the Old Testament, and in the Greek scriptures (the NT), there are three words translated to "hell": Gehenna, Hades, and Tartarus, none of which have anything to do with eternal torment. My objective is to guide you into the knowledge that the doctrine of hell is unbiblical and extremely harmful to those who hold to it.

In this book, I discuss the life and times of Jesus based on the Bible and the works of religious scholars, researchers, authors, and spiritual teachers. The focus of this book is to show how Jesus, through his teachings, caused the members of the Sanhedrin great concern as his followers began to increase. He threatened their power over the Jews by questioning their lack of understanding of the scriptures. Jesus called them to repentance for their pompous, prideful, and phony pious. For the Sanhedrin, it was Man Against Messiah.

As the world grows more volatile with looming wars, rampant pandemics, and violence in the streets, many people are wondering, is the end near? Jesus is coming soon! Sure, there is plenty of bad news on the horizon—but not for the Christian. Jesus’ end-time agenda is to give you great hope and joy. He wants to bless you and prepare you for your destiny in these last days. For more than 30 years, author, minister, and host of the weekly End of Days Update, Joseph Morris, has been awakening the Church to Jesus’ hastening return.

Why are scholars so prone to fabricate a new Jesus? Why is the public so eager to accept such claims without question? What methods and assumptions predispose scholars to distort the record? Is there a more sober approach to finding the real Jesus? Commenting on such recent releases as Bart Ehrman's Misquoting Jesus, James Tabor's The Jesus Dynasty, Michael Baigent's The Jesus Papers and the Gospel of Judas, Craig Evans offers a sane approach to examining the sources for understanding the historical Jesus.
