The Silver Lining of Tomorrow is a collaboration of poems and tidbits for all the Daddy’s girls out there. Traci Mahrt lost her father Melvin at the early age of 24. With a collection of poems found after his passing, Traci weaves in her own poems and shares her own life experiences with love, depression, and finding God.

The elements of passion and peace, sadness and loss, fear and gratitude, as well as harmony, exist for everyone. Yet, all too often, the shadows of everyday life dampen those emotions. Sands of Centuries Swirl by My Side is a selection of poetry penned about an ethereal image of pure, perfect, tortuous, enduring love, and separately, ascension or dissension from death to heaven, or hell.

Following in the footsteps of such category killers as Milk and Honey and Whiskey Words & a Shovel I, Fariha Róisín's poetry book is a collection of her thoughts as a young, queer, Muslim femme navigating the difficulties of her intersectionality. Simultaneously, this compilation unpacks the contentious relationship that exists between Róisín and her mother, her platonic and romantic heartbreaks, and the cognitive dissonance felt as a result of being so divided among her broad spectrum of identities.

A child born into a dysfunctional family is trying to find out how she fits into the world, by watching the mistakes of others; she has to learn to love the skin she is in, while not letting her family define who she is capable of becoming. This poetry will pierce your soul and the images will remain with you for years to come. This book was written to help all those who feel they've been left behind. There is hope.

Reflections on life, family, memories, and the world around us. On mental health, heartbreak, and stories that have inspired so many. These poems bare the soul of the author. What you take from them, and how you perceive them, is entirely up to you.

Court recueil de courts poèmes qui font sourire, parfois réfléchir et toujours rappeler l'enfance au présent.

This debut poetry collection takes a slanted view at five aspects of being human: life, love, loss, longing, and laughter. Pain and struggle and suffering is a given in life — for some more than others. Joy is inseparable from sorrow and pain; joy finds its footing in the latter. Each day, each morning, we have a choice to make: misery or joy. Joy is the better option.

The Dry Valley encapsulates one woman’s relationship with herself, her alcoholic spouse, and the world, in three different Saskatchewan landscapes. The poems offer a fascinating interplay between mindful explorations of self and immersions in the challenging complexities of interpersonal relationships, social issues, and meaningful engagement with the environment.

A lively and imaginative debut, Neoteny explores blindness, family, and birdsong. In these poems, Emily K. Michael meditates on literary and personal heroes like Jo March, her beloved grandmother, and her guide dog. This collection is rich with treasures from childhood - the honey-colored piano Michael played, the fig tree in her front yard, and the trays of fresh mint drying on her grandmother's table.

In this "devastating debut" (Publishers Weekly), poet José Olivarez explores the stories, contradictions, joys, and sorrows that embody life in the spaces between Mexico and America. He paints vivid portraits of good kids, bad kids, families clinging to hope, life after the steel mills, gentrifying barrios, and everything in between. Drawing on the rich traditions of Latinx and Chicago writers like Sandra Cisneros and Gwendolyn Brooks, Olivarez creates a home out of life in the in-between.

Poetry kills inner demons. It takes away their power. Removes their teeth. Loosens their grip. It turns them into mere words in a narration. Something to be heard and remembered, but no longer feared. What follows is an act of therapy. In moments of inner crisis, I put pencil to paper and let the words come. This process is not pleasant, but it is cathartic. I share this with you in the hopes that we can both feel less alone in our suffering and to show you that when you look at your demons, they lose all their power.

These are 26 new poems by Maggie Hess muse over mud puddles, rhyme in poetry, and eyebrows.

Jesse-Ray Lewis, 19, enters a West Virginia "safe house" with few possessions beyond the kerchiefs that identify him as a gang member. What follows is the personal, dramatic story of two people who intervene in the life of a homeless, drug-abusing teen with a background of violence and neglect. In their next-door suite called the safe house, they impose three rules: "No alcohol or drugs. You have to work. You have to go to school." Jesse-Ray expresses gratitude. But what does he want? The couple struggles to determine his true motives....

Homer's Odyssey is the thrilling and moving tale of the wanderings of the hero Odysseus after the end of the Trojan war. For ten years he experiences storms, shipwrecks, and seductions as he tries to find a way home to Ithaca, contending with the wrath of Poseidon but protected by Pallas Athena. Meanwhile, his wife Penelope is beset by suitors who believe him dead.

Poetry, as primitive and timeless as the people and the planet it records. Evolution is creation in motion. It is an ongoing cycle of transformation. For you and I, the human race, it is how we develop and grow, and who we become in the process. The Evolution of Creation is a poetic journey with each poem capturing an important element in an ongoing story. A story that continues to develop as it defines humanity's progress on earth. It is the rhythm of the times we live in. It is not just any story, it is our story.
