Writing with diverse poetic forms and using original artwork to deepen the exploration of conflict, Jo Patti presents us with a dynamic and edgy second book of poetry. Not for the faint hearted. This volume of poetry includes poems which express experiences where conflict has occurred. Conflict may arise from misunderstanding, historical grievances, struggles over control, power and money. Conflict may be borne out of righteous resistance.

This book is an attempt to create something beautiful from this chaos; to make sense of the things we dare not breathe to life. Focusing on loss, heartbreak, mental health, and the impact of isolation on a tired mind, these poems are the starlings that gather above the water. This book is the hope that we can learn to heal; that the future can survive the past.

The Wizard and the Wrench is a conversation of love poems between Ambika Devi and Dominic Albanese, two poets who met at an open mic on Dominic's birthday and discovered an unexpected kinship through words.

Moving back and forth between their voices, their musings explore the many places love finds a home: in water and fishing, nature and memory, human connection, the cosmic and the commonplace, and the strange beauty of being alive. One voice responds to another, creating a lyrical conversation between two distinctive perspectives and two very different ways of seeing the world.

Here is one of the bravest presentations you’ve ever seen - time traveling poet Martin Bidney interviews William Shakespeare, the greatest writer ever, who wrote 154 love poems, 14-line “sonnets”, published in 1609. Bidney responds today with 154 replies in the Shakespearean sonnet form. It’s a talk show interview on facing pages. Will (as he calls himself) is hugely entertaining. What’s more - a well-kept secret in our high schools - Will’s imagination is bisexual, and most of the love life described here is intensely homoerotic.

The search for the perfect man continues into perpetuity. My wife refers to him as “ the perfect man”. Many women spend their lives in search of him, if not in flesh and blood, then in their imaginings. It is not uncommon that the man in their lives sometimes invites comparisons. Where is this man who is the bravest of the brave, the purest of the pure, unbridled in the bedroom? Where is this man who has wealth and unrivaled success, who can unlock the treasures and experiences of a lifetime for the lucky woman who catches his eye?

Lunar Honey is a collection of poetry about evolving. The book is divided into three sections with thematic waves of love in various forms, culminating in self-empowering truths. In Lunar Honey, Holly Toomer highlights romance, authenticity, social disparity, resilience, spirituality, and purpose. The poems in this book reflect how an infatuated and unhealthy love can almost be trance-like, so much so, that it is easy to understand how a person can lose theirself in another.

Sound interesting? The author thinks so, too. Listen to The Atmosphere of Love and enjoy the poetry.
