God has provided salvation, but when does it begin? What is required of us? Can we lose it? These and other disputed questions have divided Christians for centuries. Matthew W. Bates has already shown that the gospel is about King Jesus and that faith includes allegiance. In Beyond the Salvation Wars, he unpacks additional truths from the Bible and the early church to describe how salvation happens.

If you ask, He will give you living water! That is all you have to do – ask. How real, how true, how free – yet how simple! This is grace. He loves us not because we are rich in goodness, but because He is rich in mercy; not because we are worthy of His favor, but because He delights in lovingkindness. His welcome to us comes from His own graciousness, not from our lovableness. Christ invites the weary. It is this weariness that fits you for Him and Him for you.

There are still big theological discoveries to be found when digging into Scripture. Hyper-Calvinist Universal Salvation unearths a few of them, most notably, a previously undiscovered theology in Scripture, where the mysterious entity referred to in the book of Revelation as the Lake of Fire is found to be another name for GOD, who, according to Scripture, will save all condemned and unchosen human souls that were ever created at the Eschaton (end of the world), when he will immolate them in the core of his Consuming Fire (Lake of Fire), to save them by Fire (1 Cor 3: 15).

I’ve titled this book Essential Faith because I hope to reclaim the mighty gospel from its inferior variants. I also hope to show that this unembellished core provides an indispensable benefit both to individuals and to society. I don’t plan to prove the claims of the gospel so much as proof the claims for it. The gospel is God’s power to save humans. Only it can rescue us from what we need saving from. It is the essential message of the Christian system that is essential to life.

How does Jesus, through his life and death, save us? How do our beliefs about this affect our Christian walk and worldview? How does the Atonement reveal the character of God? These are some of the questions that are raised and answered in this book. What we believe about the meaning of Jesus' death matters, because of how it affects our views about God and the Christian life. You may be surprised to learn that the meaning of Jesus’ death as taught by many Christians is a fairly modern development in church history.

This isn’t a Theology textbook. It’s a field manual. The ordo salutis—the order of salvation—is not a theological puzzle for scholars. It’s the battle map of how God saves sinners from eternity past to eternal glory. In a world flooded with confusion, compromise, and man-centered gospels, we need clarity. We need fire. We need truth that holds.

Nephi's small plates are a time capsule from the sixth century B.C., containing a "loser's eye view" of religion that strongly contrasts with the ideology of the Jerusalem establishment of the time. Lehi's dream and Nephi's interpretive vision are visionary-literary accounts of the two temple ordinances at the heart of the worship of Lehi's "visionary men" -- the Peace Offerings and the Day of Atonement. Learning to understand those visions opens up the rest of the Book of Mormon, and ancient scripture in general.

Baptisms are down, church doors are closing, and once-faithful Christians are leaving their faith. This issue has puzzled many for years. Some suggest focusing on discipleship and Christian education, while others create programs to help the Gospel “stick.” However, the problem lies in the Gospel proclamation itself. The solution isn’t a new Gospel but a bigger, historical, and more comprehensive one. The Gospel is Bigger than You Think offers a thorough approach to the biblical Gospel, broadening the listener's perspective and creating lasting Kingdom impact.

Many Catholics don't believe that Jesus is really present in the Eucharist. Rather, they see the bread and wine of Holy Communion as mere symbols of Christ's body and blood. Is that disbelief just a misunderstanding or is it a blatant rejection of one of the central beliefs of the faith? In Real Presence, University of Notre Dame theologian Timothy P. O'Malley clears up the confusion and shows you how to learn to love God and neighbor through a deeper understanding of the doctrine of real presence.

The doctrine of Christ's ascension is often overlooked in the church today, yet it holds profound significance for Christian theology and the Christian life. The Glory of the Ascension by theologian Ross Hastings invites listeners to rediscover this essential truth.

Walter Marshall (1628-1680) explains that sanctification, like justification, is a gracious gift of God and is not the result of human effort. Rather than sanctification being produced by our works, our works are the fruit of God's work of sanctification in us.

In A Lifting Up for the Downcast, Puritan preacher William Bridge offers a profound exploration of spiritual depression through thirteen powerful sermons on Psalm 42:11, originally delivered in Stepney, London, in 1648. As a true physician of souls, Bridge skillfully diagnoses the heart's...

Ditching the Checklist was written to help Evangelicals and other Christians who, due to grounding the assurance of their salvation in evidences of their new birth instead of Christ alone, struggle over whether or not they are saved. Evangelical leader J. D. Greear describes anxiety over whether or not one is saved as a major problem among Evangelicals. With ample testimony from Scripture and appealing to the thinking of Luther, this booklet addresses this anxiety head on.

Who are you, really? Many people in the church today face an identity crisis. But the Apostle Paul had no question about what it meant to be a Christian: he was “in Christ.” Recovering this New Testament phrase is the key to understanding our identity and enjoying all the blessings of...
