The central conceit of this book is that it is an oral history that women passed down from generation to generation, based on inspiration by God instead of genetic relationships or priesthood authority designations. The book is given to Christ at the end of the two volumes, when he appears to righteous Lamanites and Nephites waiting for him.

The Talmage Parables is a collection of four short stories, or parables, that James E. Talmage wrote based upon his life experiences. These parables were initially published in the church’s Improvement Era in 1914, three years after Elder Talmage was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Among all the various figures in 19th century America who left controversial legacies, it is hard to find one as influential as Joseph Smith (1805-1844), the founder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mormonism, and the Latter-Day Saint movement. Revered as a prophet on the level of Moses by some, reviled as a perpetrator of large-scale fraud by others, what everyone can agree on is that Joseph Smith founded a religious movement that played a crucial role in the settlement of the West, especially in Utah.

In this brief theological introduction, Terryl Givens echoes Nephi’s invitation for listeners to keep Christ front and center in their minds, hearts, and worship. "I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents..." So begins the first book in the Book of Mormon. In this brief theological introduction, philosopher and theologian Joseph M. Spencer investigates the central themes and purposes of a book he calls a "theological masterpiece". What was Nephi trying to accomplish with his writings? How can readers/listeners today make better sense of Nephi's words? What can an ancient seer offer readers/listeners in the 21st century? Spencer introduces a Nephi for our moment, a complex prophet with an urgent message for a world in turmoil.

Later, I found hope in Reverend Sun Myung Moon’s guidance. Thirty years after I started my spiritual quest, missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ found me.
