Lysander Spooner was one of slavery’s fiercest enemies. As a lawyer, he offered free legal services to escaped slaves, defending them in court. He advocated smuggling guns to slaves, with which to overthrow their masters, and take possession of their property. “Give the Slave-holders, then, a taste of their own whips.”

Pyotr Kropotkin (1842-1921) was one of the most interesting figures to emerge from the Russian Communist movement, developing the path of Communist Anarchism: he was not associated, either in theory or practice with the violence associated with that time of great change. Born into a Russian...

An Enquiry Concerning Political Justice is Godwin’s most famous work of political theory. Written in the early years of the French Revolution before the Terror had begun, Godwin provides a fierce critique of unjust government institutions, and he proposes that individuals are better able to provide for their own needs. He believed that political change could be brought about gradually and as a result of free discussion in small communities.

With 11 chapters by top libertarian scholars on all aspects of defense, this book edited by Hans-Hermann Hoppe it represents an ambitious attempt to extend the idea of free enterprise to the provision of security services. It argues that "national defense" as provided by government is a myth not unlike the myth of socialism itself. It is more viably privatized and replaced by the market provision of security.

Albert Libertad was a French anarchist militant and essayist active during the late 19th/early 20th century. Libertad is most well-known as the editor of the influential anarchist publication L’Anarchie, circulated throughout France and beyond. Libertad excelled in crafting cutting-edge, norm-defiant, intelligent essays and articles, and the essay "Liberty" is no exception. People are commonly struck with Libertad’s impassioned yet well thought out and calculated style of delivering his message.

Originally written in French, The Conquest of Bread first appeared as a series of articles in the anarchist journal Le Révolté. It was first published in Paris with a preface by Élisée Reclus, who also suggested the title. Between 1892 and 1894, it was serialized in part in the London journal Freedom, of which Kropotkin was a co-founder. In the work, Kropotkin points out what he considers to be the defects of the economic systems of feudalism and capitalism and why he believes they thrive on and maintain poverty and scarcity.

Economic theorists since their inception over 200 years ago have struggled with the question of how to distribute wealth and continue to come up short. The author is not only criticizing capitalism but finally has brought to the table a new thought-provoking alternative to the economic cannibalistic system. The author's unconventional line of attack will raise your heart rate and make you nauseous.

Pyotr Alexeyevich Kropotkin (1842-1921) was the leading - and the most widely admired - anarchist Communist in the last decades of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th. He lived long enough to see the establishment of Communism in Russia under Lenin, who acknowledged Kropotkin’s...

Few essays written in the last decades have caused so much fundamental rethinking. It is essential that libertarians get this issue right and understand the arguments on all sides. Kinsella's piece here is masterful in making a case against IP that turns out to be more rigorous and thorough than any written on the left, right, or anything in between.

In a world of infinite information and propaganda screaming at us from every direction, the truth is of paramount importance to our mental health, and can be a matter of life and death for every person on this planet. In The Propaganda Project, I expose the tricks of the propagandist--the tricks needed to legitimize the illegitimate, to make us think up is down, black is white. I dig deep into the muck to extract the truth about government, and the financial interests pulling the strings.

In the twenty-first century, it has become clear to most that there is no divine right or imperative for the existence of an empire on the Earth. As such an ever-increasing number of peoples have thrown off the yoke of empire in favor of what has become known as a democratic model of collective governance.

This audiobook exposes crucial activities by libertarians with regard to Big Bang of deregulation in the UK and how that deregulation came to hurt main street USA!

Libertarian thought receives very little criticism as to its assumptions. We all have a libertine streak within us. However, that desire for unbridled freedom is quite different than formal libertarian philosophy. Becoming a libertarian requires buying into the assumptions of that philosophy.

The state makes a mess of everything it touches, argues Jeffrey Tucker in Bourbon for Breakfast. Perhaps the biggest mess it makes is in our minds. Its pervasive interventions in every sector affect the functioning of society in so many ways, we are likely to intellectually adapt rather than fight. Tucker proposes another path: See how the state has distorted daily life, rethink how things would work without the state, and fight against the intervention in every way that is permitted.

The Coming Insurrection is an eloquent call to arms arising from the recent waves of social contestation in France and Europe. Written by the anonymous Invisible Committee in the vein of Guy Debord — and with comparable elegance — it has been proclaimed a manual for terrorism by the French government (who recently arrested its alleged authors).

Whenever we envision a world without war, without prisons, without capitalism, we are producing speculative fiction. Organizers and activists envision and try to create such worlds all the time. Walidah Imarisha and adrienne maree brown have brought 20 of them together in the first anthology of short stories to explore the connections between radical speculative fiction and movements for social change.

On Anarchism provides the reasoning behind Noam Chomsky's fearless lifelong questioning of the legitimacy of entrenched power. In these essays, Chomsky redeems one of the most maligned ideologies, anarchism, and places it at the foundation of his political thinking. Chomsky's anarchism is distinctly optimistic and egalitarian. Moreover, it is a living, evolving tradition that is situated in a historical lineage; Chomsky's anarchism emphasizes the power of collective, rather than individualist, action.

The statist-servile society (mainstream culture) is inherently unfree. Stationary dwellings are more vulnerable to coercion and are extremely expensive to afford; that, and there really is no such thing as private-property land ownership anyway. Nomadic lifestyles solve many of the above problems and are liberating in nature. Strategies in this realm include: van nomadism, wilderness "vonu", minimalist sailboating, pedestrian nomadism, and more. Learn how to live these lifestyles from folks who lived them. And always remember, "vonu" is yours for the making.

Half a dozen years ago, anthropologist Gabriella Coleman set out to study the rise of this global phenomenon just as some of its members were turning to political protest and dangerous disruption. She ended up becoming so closely connected to Anonymous that the tricky story of her inside-outside status as Anon confidante, interpreter, and erstwhile mouthpiece forms one of the themes of this witty and entirely engrossing book.

Skrigerne! udkom første gang i 1980.
