In June 1863, the Southern army was hungry and in need of supplies. So its leader, General Robert E. Lee, sets his sights northward into Pennsylvania. While the abundant farmlands and ripening orchards will make the tiny town of Gettysburg an idyllic destination for the soldiers, General Lee sees it as a most strategic location. As small and inconsequential the town may have seemed, its main roads led to several important northern cities--Harrisburg, the state capital, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC.

Dave McPherson is a retired Army Ranger and small businessman in California's central valley. His wife, Maggie, is dying of the cancer that has wracked her body for months. As she breathes her last breath she tells Dave prophetically that he will have to take up arms against an enemy that is coming right to his doorstep. At that very moment United States President Sranga lays dying in a San Diego hospital from a gunshot wound to the brain. Just before he expires a demonic force takes control of his body and his mind and prevents the President's death.

Lieutenant Colonel Francis James Preston is promoted to colonel and assigned to train new recruits fresh out of infantry school to reactivate the 289th Infantry Regiment. Training these soldiers isn’t hard enough; Second Lieutenant Katharine Wilson is promoted to lieutenant colonel and assigned as the regiment’s executive officer. The regiment attempts to prove their ability to fight together. Internal agents attempt to undermine the regiment to show its inability to defeat an enemy. The time spent training these soldiers exposes a dark secret known only to Dr. Paul Minder.

When the highest-ranking commander in the army and larger-than-life hero General Torn arrives unexpectedly, he commands Savek and his squad to guide him on a deadly mission into hostile territory.

This adventure begins with a two family vacation. One family will be saying good-bye to their son as he has been accepted to West Point. The other family's son will be attending the University in Albany. One is White, the other is a Negro, and this is the middle of the 19th century. Best friends from birth and both trying to make a difference in an improbable time in our nation's history. The two friends try to maintain their relationship and do the best they can even through the Civil War.

A Huey helicopter escorted by two assault Charlie-model gunship helicopters are flying somewhere over the South Vietnam jungles in search of a sniper and his spotter. Not able to locate or make contact with them and with enemy fire increasing, they have to cancel their mission and hopefully come back later. As they begin to fly away, the door gunner from the second gunship sees the sniper and spotter running through the jungle. Realizing there is not enough time for the Huey to turn back, his pilot breaks toward an area where they can pick up the sniper and spotter.
