I hear the stillness of streams. What can be purer and pinker than the sincere sight and splash of our Mother Nature, the wildlife? What can be lovelier than its love? This is the story of a dark night of the soul, of traversing the depths of despair, and of rebirth. It shows the reality of hitting rock bottom. Not by a self-reported narrative written after the fact, but through unfiltered poetic expression written in real time during breakdown and recovery. The poems within this collection were written over a 24-month period and are presented in chronological order. They show the inner tumult and turmoil of a man desperately trying, and failing, to hold together the crumbling status quo of his prior existence.

So begins a dark, but sturdy epic full of warriors, dragons, monsters of the deep, mead halls, and mounds of treasure. Beowulf is the great Norse epic poem, and one of the great inspirations for J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. In this bold and truly innovative translation, Douglas Wilson reproduces the alliteration and stresses of the original, though being more dynamic with particular wording.

Original spiritual poetry. The words dance while your heart draws near to God. Do you have questions? There are answers. The printed book shows the poetry in elegant shapes. Most are wine glasses. The place where the piece comes together—where the listener can grasp hold of the message—is there a person picks up the glass to drink from. Contemplative complex poetry meant to feed the mind and soul with spiritual food.
