In this heartfelt and often humorous collection of true stories, an English teacher and mother invites listeners behind the scenes of life with ADHD—not as a clinical case study, but as a lived experience full of challenges, breakthroughs, tears, triumphs, and the occasional fire-related trauma. Drawing from over twenty years of teaching, early childhood intervention work, and parenting through a labyrinth of labels she once barely understood, she reveals how the traits that culture often misjudges can bloom into strengths when seen through the right lens.

At its core, this book is a testament to perseverance, faith, and resilience. It chronicles the challenges of pursuing higher education as a thirty-year-old nontraditional student, wife, and mother, facing obstacles that could have easily derailed the journey. Through exhaustion, self-doubt, and uncertainty, I refused to give up, drawing strength from my faith and the unwavering support of my family. After multiple failed attempts, I made one final push to return to college, seeking readmission to Angelo State University following a previous suspension.

What happens when a teacher’s dream collides with the harsh realities of the classroom and the world beyond? In A Teacher’s Odyssey, Tarique takes listeners into the heart of Philadelphia’s schools while living a life few ever get to witness, with one foot in the classroom and the other on a plane as he travels the world. What he uncovers not only challenges what we think we know about education, but exposes truths the system would rather ignore. With sharp insight and unflinching honesty, this memoir reveals what’s possible when one teacher refuses to give up on his students or himself.

This beautifully written biography charts the life of Dr. Cynthia J. MacKay, a wife, a mother, a surgeon, and a lifelong activist campaigning against the cruel, painful, damaging invasive corrective eye surgery LASIK. It is written with modesty. It is engaging, witty, and sometimes painful to listen to as it describes the discrimination, smear campaigns, and brutal conduct of her peers and others who have tried to ruin her in their own act of self-preservation. Cynthia battles through it all, with dignity, determination, and an abundance of wit, humor and humility.

The world is full of cowards. Tim Anderson was pushing 30 and working a string of dead-end jobs when he made the spontaneous decision to pack his bags and move to Japan.

This audiobook exists in such a moment. Over the last seventy years, the United States—and the world—has undergone transformations that once would have taken centuries. Entire industries have risen and disappeared. Ways of working, communicating, learning, and building have been reinvented again and again. What was once physical became mechanical.
